Dr Martin Hagger,
Senior Consultant and Researcher
Dr Martin Hagger is a Reader at the University of Nottingham. A significant proportion of
his research examines social cognitive models of intentional behaviour, such as the
‘Theory of Planned Behaviour’. His involvement in research psychology also extends to self-perceptions
and their relationship to exercise behaviour, as well as the social processes involved
in people’s ‘self-regulation’ of health behaviour.
Because of Martin’s extensive research examining the relationship between intention and behaviour,
he offers Mindsport clients the opportunity to increase their own and their employee’s adhesion
to action. In professional settings there is a significant gulf between planned behaviour and action,
and Martin’s expertise provides organisations with the tools to achieve their goals and hit their
targets more often. Integrated closely into Mindsport’s business programmes, Martin’s well established
academic status provides scientific grounding behind a number of the Company’s interventions.
Mindsport also offers placements for psychology undergraduates and post-graduates.
Martin co-ordinates the placements, working closely with Mindsport to ensure each student benefits
from their vocational placement.
